Privacy Policy – The Board Backup
What this app is
The Board Backup is a private, single-user backup tool. It runs only on Core Zero's own server and is used only by Core Zero's owner, to keep encrypted backup copies of Core Zero's own systems in the owner's Google Drive. It is not offered to the public. No other person's Google account is connected to it.
Google user data it accesses
- Scope:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.fileonly. Google limits this permission to files and folders that The Board Backup itself created. - What it touches: its own backup folder and the backup files in it. It creates, lists, reads, updates and deletes those files only.
- What it never touches: any other file, folder, document or photo in Google Drive, plus Gmail, contacts, calendar and profile data.
How the data is used
The app has one purpose: to store and retrieve Core Zero's own backups. Backups are encrypted on Core Zero's server before upload (restic), so the files in Google Drive are unreadable without a password that is never sent to Google. The app restores from those files to test recovery and after a failure.
Storage and security
The Google authorization (OAuth tokens) is stored only on Core Zero's server, in a file that only the system administrator account can read. All traffic to Google uses HTTPS.
Sharing
Data from Google APIs is not sold, not shared with or transferred to third parties, not used for advertising, and not used to develop, improve or train artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models.
Retention and deletion
Backups are kept on a rolling schedule (the most recent 7 daily, 5 weekly and 6 monthly copies), and older copies are deleted automatically. The owner can revoke the app's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions and can delete the backup folder from Google Drive directly.
Google API Services User Data Policy
The Board Backup's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
